English Interpretation
Four years ago I was elected Oregon FFA State Sentinel. Oregon FFA members chose me to teach about leadership and team work. FFA members gave me a gold pin for my jacket. I served as State Sentinel for one year. At the end of my State Sentinel term, I gave a big speech. Four thousand people came to hear my speech. Members watched me while I was on the stage. My speech was titled “Aspire to Inspire”. I spoke about my Grandfather. He is the best man I know. His name is Royal Bossen. He is kind, loving, and selfless. I spoke about him inspiring me to achieve my dreams. My grandfather made me a better person. He taught me many values. I know that I was a good leader because of my Grandfather. I told stories about his difficult childhood, the death of his first wife, and both his battles with cancer. My grandfather always remained positive and thankful. I love my grandfather with my whole heart.

Week 10 Video

This week in ASL 201 class we had a new visitor. A young boy named Jaden came to class to help us with topic signing. Jaden is eight years old and is deaf. He is a funny young boy. He helped lead our first discussions in sign. It was very easy to sign with Jaden and he helped correct your signs and teach new signs. Carl put pictures of elephants from a National Geographic book at the front of class. We used the pictures of the elephants as discussion topics. It was a fun day and a fun activity.
